Find the critical numbers of the function.

pp. 283, #30

For this lesson, I started learning about the applications of differentiation. This includes how to find the maximum and minimum values, what are critical values, and various methods/theorems for finding the aforementioned topics.

As to why learning about these is important, is because I think these topics are the foundation to future lessons (not limited to Math 5), say perhaps word problems (my nemesis) and such. Not only that, but in these particular lessons, we can also figure out where to use the lessons we’ve learned from the previous quarter/s.

I’ve tried and done how to differentiate before this through the previous lessons, and it is interesting to see how its applications work. This proves how important understanding those lessons were before tackling these ones.

As you can see from my bare entry, I don’t think I’ve done well. No, but, even with that, I can at least try to commend myself for at least understanding something even while I was reviewing for tests.

Not just for this quarter, nor for this academic year, but even in the future, what I should always do next would to always find time to practice. Because I do admit that this is not the first nor the last time Math (in general) has made me realize that these problems can only be solved through thorough learning, understanding, and practice.
