GRADED EXERCISES

B. Given the function 𝑓, a) determine the first derivative 𝑓 ′ , b) solve for the critical number/s (if there are any), c) produce a table of signs, and d) determine the intervals at which 𝑓 is increasing or decreasing.

Module 6.3.2, page 3, Section B

For these two modules, I learned about how to determine increasing and decreasing functions along with the first derivative test. Specific learning with is how their graphs would look like.

What I did for these modules is important because we can see how the lessons are building up the foundation we set from the previous ones. Aside from that, these will actually be really helpful when it comes to word problems.

Again, I’ve done the differentiation from the previous quarter/s. The table of signs is also familiar since we’ve been using this as an illustration since previous years and sometimes, for other subjects as well.

I would say I’ve done well, but that’s only if I can get past through the first derivation (and the second derivation, for future lessons). If I can’t, well… It did feel like I’m diving into a rabbit hole rather than climbing up through it.

Like I’ve said in the previous reflection, all it takes for me in the future would be to actually practice. And of course, while I may forget some tidbits here and there, it would be helpful for me in future Math endeavors to at least remember the basics (the foundation) I’ve learned and hopefully understood in this quarter.

That is all. ❤
